“Mindful Awareness-Experience the Everyday Holiness in our Lives”

The “whatever” may be something we relish or desire; or something unpleasant, even painful and unwelcome. To be mindful is to be able to hold it without our usual judgements and be present with the moment as it is. It can enable us to experience the richness, the “everyday holiness in our lives".

A PILGRIMAGE TO SPAIN, FRANCE AND PORTUGAL - May 13 to May 25, 2018

A Pilgrimage to Spain - also including Lourdes (France) and Fatima (Portugal) - 13 Days
May 13 to May 25, 2018 - Hosted by: Fr. Chris Ciastoń

I would like to extend a very special invitation to you to join me as we tour three of the most unique and interesting countries in Europe: Spain, Portugal, and France!

We will start our trip with exploring one of Europe’s most vibrant cities; Barcelona. Crossing through the spectacular Pyrenees with their breath-taking panoramas, we’ll arrive to Lourdes, birthplace of St. Bernadette, and place of the Shrine of Our Lady.

Our journey will continue in Spain. The cultures of Spain are as varied as its geography. Throughout its history it was a coveted prize for foreign conquerors – including the Romans and the Moors. In architectural style, Madrid is very similar to Paris and Vienna. Montserrat alone is worth the trip, and Salamanca, Toledo and Avila are gorgeous! Religious piety can be seen as images of saints watch over shops, bars and lorry driver cabs. Family life underpins Spanish society. Spaniards are gregarious and love to eat and socialize.

Spanish architecture is world renowned - from Moorish to Romanesque to Gothic and Renaissance. Art is also a pride of Spain with painters such as Velazquez, Goya, Picasso, and El Greco. Spanish spirituality is intense and mystical. The writings of John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila have nourished souls for centuries.

We’ll visit the capitol of Portugal, Lisbon, and the holy shrine of Fatima. Here the church has affirmed the apparition of the Virgin Mary to children who heard her secrets. Pilgrims come from around the world to pray for peace, healing and guidance.

So, please consider coming with me on this fun, exciting, beautiful, mysterious, and inspiring journey. I look forward to your presence with me.

Fr. Chris (Krzysztof) Ciastoń
