SPRED is a program which provides faith formation and sacramental preparation for children and adults with developmental disabilities. SPRED provides catechists one on one; one volunteer catechist for each of our special friends. SPRED is a community of friends who grow together in faith. SPRED builds a desire for, and an awareness of, God in our everyday life.

Our SPRED center serves six to ten year olds. Children of other age groups are referred to other Parish Centers.

This Special Religious Education for God's special children, ages 6 - 10 with developmental disabilities needs a few more catechists to be a one-on-one "friend" to a special child. Special children need to know about God and His love for them. Help one special child learn about God in a way that he or she can understand.

SPRED meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center from October to May. No experience necessary - will train. Call Carol Ideler at 773-775-1649 if you are the least bit interested. Thank You.

You can also contact the Rectory to volunteer as an adult helper and become a friend, or to register a person, whether a child, teen, young adult or adult.
